Albert T. Bakker, age 84, of St. John, IN, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 29, 2015. Beloved husband of Alvina Bakker, nee Docter. Loving father of Gene (Patricia) Bakker, Marilyn (Randy) Helmus, David Bakker, Debra Bakker, Rhonda (Mike) Van Dellen, and Michael (Dawn) Bakker. Proud grandfather of 15; great-grandfather of 30. Dearest brother of Theodore Bakker, the late Theresa Huizenga, and the late Jacob Bakker. Visitation Friday, October 30, 2015 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m.at Community United Reformed Church, 8045 Alexander St., Schererville, IN. Funeral service Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Community URC with Rev. Todd Joling officiating followed by a memorial luncheon. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL. While growing up Mr. Bakker farmed with his father, for the next 25 years he delivered dry cleaning for Fashion Cleaners, and finally he became the proud owner of Lansing Home Maintenance for 20 years.
