Albert Buiter

Albert Buiter, age 81, of Crete, IL, was called home to glory on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.  Beloved husband of the late Jean K. Buiter, nee Zandstra. Loving father of Cheryl (Dave) Dotson, the late Albert Wayne Buiter, and Karen (Dale) Huizenga.  Dear grandfather of Joshua (Bonnie) Dotson, Jori (Michael) Staal and Jim Dotson; great-grandfather of Landon, Lana, Jordan, Jonah, Jade, Austin, and Dean.  Dear brother of the late Everett (Sadie ((late Don)) Knoper) Buiter, late Bertha (late Wally) DeVries, John (late Thea) Buiter, late Bill (late Joan) Buiter, Anne (late Allan) Vis, Claire (late Gise) VanBaren, Neal (late Cheri) (Bernice) Buiter, Jim (Janet) Buiter, late Jeanne Buiter, and Rich (Mary) Buiter, late Jean (late Chuck) Terpstra,  Marie (late John) Fischer, late Pete (Annette) Kamp, late Bill (late Doris) Kamp, Hank (Grace) Kamp, late John (late Bonnie) Kamp, Len (Joanne) Kamp, Doris (Henry) Doorn, late Sid (Barb ((Butch)) Bruinius) Kamp. Brother-in-law of the late Henry (late Joanne) Zandstra, Barb (Skip) Hunter, Sharon (Art) Van Baren, late Mary Beth Zandstra, Cindy (Steve) Dees, and the late James Zandstra. Also preceded in death by his parents John (Anna nee Vroom) Buiter, Jeannie Kamp Buiter and Julia DeVries Buiter, and by his parents-in-law Hank and Hilda Zandstra.

Visitation Friday, February 7, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:30 p.m. at Crete Protestant Reformed Church, 1777 E. Richton Rd., Crete, IL,  with Rev. Allen Brummel officiating.  Interment Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.  Al loved the Lord first in his life and was devoted to his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed working on Jean and Al’s family farm business and the farmers markets, as well as his auction business. He was a faithful servant serving on the Protestant Reformed Christian School board and as a deacon and elder in his church.  Al was loved by many and will be dearly missed.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Protestant Reformed Christian School Association or Crown Point Christian School .
