Albert J. Dekker, age 74, of Dyer, IN entered the gates of glory on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Survived by his bride of 56 years, Jackie Dekker, nee Jansma. Dear father of Jeff (JoAnn) Dekker, Judi (Allen) Womac, Jodi (Jim) Czernobil, Jon (Amy) Dekker, Jim (Laura) Dekker and Jacki (Doug) Bush. Proud grandfather of 17; great-grandfather of 18 with three more on the way.Loving brother of Carl (Kim) Dekker and Karen (Ed) DeVries. Preceded in death by a grandson the late Doug Bush, a brother the late Marvin (late Nancy) Dekker and a sister the late Dorothy (Bruce) LaReau and parents the late Martin and the late Grace Dekker. Visitation Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home (2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN). A remembrance and worship service will be held Monday, January 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at First Church PCA (3134 Ridge Rd. Lansing, IL) with services conducted by Rev. Jacques Roets.
