Alice Kats

Alice Kats, nee DeYoung, age 97, of South Holland, IL passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Donald Kats. Loving mother of Kathleen (Clifton) Rhodes, Susan (David) VanDyken, Jane (David) Adams, and Leonard (Rebecca VanDam) Kats. Cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 15. Dear sister of the late Johanna (late Peter) VanDrunen, the late Marie (late Mario) Paulton, and the late Henry (late Nellie) DeYoung.

She will be remembered as the daily prayer warrior, an encourager throughout life, a talented church pianist and a woman of hospitality. She is home with her Savior and Lord. Victory in Jesus!

Visitation on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.  Memorial contributions may be given to Calumet Area Hospice, 600 Superior Ave, Munster, IN 46321
