Alice Pals, nee DeYoung, age 91, of South Holland, IL passed away Monday, October 24, 2011. Beloved wife of Harry G. Pals; loving mother of Sharen Groot and Russell (Linda) Pals; devoted grandmother of Brian Groot, Allison Pals, and Amanda Keith and great-grandmother of Anika Groot; dear sister of the late Clarence H. (late Carrie) DeYoung, the late Annie (late Leonard) VanDerAa, and the late Johanna (late John) Schindler. Visitation Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL. Funeral service Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with services conducted by Rev. Ben Tol. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL. Mrs. Pals and her husband were the former owners of the Ben Franklin store in South Holland.
