Alice A. Rios

Alice A. Rios (Stripeik), age 71, of Steger, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 31, 2023. Loving mother of John (Deanna) Rios. Cherished grandmother of Amber, Lilly and Eli. Dear sister of Thomas (Susie) Stripeik and Margaret Stripeik. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Mario Rios, her daughter Charlotte Shelton and her parents Dorothy and Bernard Stripeik.

Alice was born on July 4, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois to Dorothy and Bernard Stripeik. She graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1970. Following high school, she worked as a banker and then found her true passion working in the medical field for many years. In 1972, she married her true love, Mario Rios. They started their lives together in Danville, Illinois and soon after spent many years together in their Chicago home. Over 45 years of marriage, they welcomed 2 children into their home.

Her son and grandchildren will remember her as a giving and supportive mother and grandmother who loved them unconditionally and always supported them in all aspects of their lives.

Alice was a caring and generous person that would do anything for her family, friends and even strangers. She was a devoted Catholic who dedicated her life to the Catholic Church. She was an animal lover who enjoyed crafting, shopping and spending time with her family, especially rooting her grandkids on at their activities.
