Alyda Vanschouwen

Alyda VanSchouwen, nee Zeldenrust, age 93, of St. John, IN passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.  Beloved wife of the late Marshall VanSchouwen.  Loving mother of Marilyn (Arthur) Meinema, Jacob (Linda Meppelink) VanSchouwen, Marvin (Laurie Huizenga) VanSchouwen, Nellie (Daniel) Bultema, and Grace Leep.  Cherished grandmother of Wayne & Michelle (Masten) Meinema, Karen (Meinema) & Bill Diephuis, Renee (Meinema) & Tom Stilson, Dale Meinema, Valerie VanSchouwen, Brent & Suzanne (Walstra) Van Schouwen, Loren & Donna (Schmidt) Van Schouwen, Bruce & Rachel (Brooker) Van Schouwen, Jeffrey & Sandi (Solle) Bultema, Rose Ann (Bultema) & Jeremy Breuker, Westley & Susan (Scheeringa) Bultema, Glenn & Kyle (Juzwicki) Bultema, Christina VanSchouwen, Jennifer (Van Schouwen) & Kraig VanHouten, Marshall & Nicole (Mosbaugh) VanSchouwen, Katherine (Van Schouwen) & Joshua Williams, Michael & Pamela( Zuchowski) VanSchouwen, Garrett & Carin (Riley) Leep, Susan Leep, and Matthew Leep.  Great-grandmother of 41 grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her siblings Coba Huizenga, Kaya VanderWall, Nellie Smit, Rena Ooms, Hilda Bultema, Peter Zeldenrust, and Neil Zeldenrust; and by parents Henry and Grace Zeldenrust.  Marshall and Alyda farmed all their life.  She loved being in the field and loved her flower garden.  Alyda was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
