Andrew Jacobs

Andrew John Jacobs, age 95, of Orland Park, formerly of South Holland, IL passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Mr. Jacobs is survived by two sons: Paul (Nancy) Jacobs of Naples, NY and Bob (Lori) Jacobs of Frankfort, IL; five grandchildren: Steven (Julie) Jacobs, Susan (Clinton) Ellinger, Scott (Brooke) Jacobs, Todd (Carrianne) Jacobs, and Ryan Jacobs; two great-grandsons: Alex and Peter; one brother: Nelson Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by his wife: Minnie Jacobs, nee Pals; two brothers: Hiram and Luc Jacobs; and one sister: Clara Schindler. Visitation Sunday, March 22, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. " 8:00 P.M. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home (649 E. 162nd St. South Holland, IL). Funeral Service Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at First Reformed Church (15924 South Park Ave. South Holland, IL) with services conducted by Rev. Mel DeVries and Rev. Al VanderMeer. Interment, Oak Ridge Cemetery " Lansing, IL. Mr. Jacobs was a skilled carpenter who built many of the homes in South Holland. He was also an avid golfer and a member of First Reformed Church of South Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to First Reformed Church Mission Fund.
