Angelina Rose Cook, 88, of West Columbia, formerly of Illinois, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Brazosport Regional Health System in Lake Jackson, TX. She was born May 8, 1927 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Michael and Carrie Basile. Angelina was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brazoria, TX. She loved baking, cooking and playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends. She was a special lady that lived life to the fullest. She was a loving mother and grandmother and always put her family first. She may be gone but never forgotten. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Carrie Basile; husband, Ralph Cook; 2 sisters and 8 brothers. She is survived by her sons, Ralph Cook and wife Robin of West Columbia, Anthony Cook of Dallas; sister, Betty Basile of Sierra Vista, AZ, brother, Freddy Basile of Illinois, brother-in-law, Ray Cook and wife Marie of Jones Creek, grandchildren, Michael Cook, Jeff Cook, Angelica Cook and Amber Russell; great grandchildren, Emma Cook, Faye Cook, Makayla Russell and Brian Russell. Best friends, Suzanne Gautney of Angleton, Early Jackson of West Columbia and many other friends and family members that helped and supported her through her courageous battle with breast cancer. Special thanks to Grace Hoes for always making sure she got to her chemo treatments. And a host of other relatives and friends that were always there to support her. Visitation Friday, April 1, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Steger Memorial Chapel in Steger, Illinois. Mass will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Liborius Catholic Church in Steger, Illinois. Final resting place will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Steger, Illinois.
