Ann C. Maicach

Ann Catherine Maicach, nee Spoolstra, died on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the age of 94, after a long, heart breaking period of physical and mental decline inflicted on her by dementia.  She was born on June 24, 1927, the daughter of Tina and Martin Spoolstra, and lived all her life in the Chicagoland area as a devoted wife and mother.  A woman of kindness and compassion, she touched countless lives.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Paul, and her son, Douglas.  She is survived by her daughter Deborah Maicach and Daughter-In-Law Donna Maicach Smith and Son-In-Law Jim Smith, her grandsons Tyler Maicach and Travis Smith, and her great grandson Hunter Maicach.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home in Dyer, IN.  Burial will take place, privately, at Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Church or Lansing Christian School.
