Anna Poortenga ( nee Ipema) age 92, of Lansing, IL passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Peter A. Poortenga. Loving mother of Ruth (late Chuck) Underwood, Delores Jean Poortenga, Elaine (Dewey) VanderNoord, Alvin (late Shirley) Poortenga, Peter (Janice) Poortenga, Sandra (John) Heys, Robert (Linda) Poortenga, David (Lindsay) Poortenga, Lois (David) Nelson, and Karen Poortenga; cherished grandmother of 32, great-grandmother of 77, and great-great-grandmother of 8. She was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters. Visitation Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311. Funeral service, Wednesday, February 13 , 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Lynwood United Reformed Church-Lynwood, IL with Rev. Rev Keith Davis officiating. Private interment prior to service at Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL.
