Anne S. Cebula

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved aunt, Anne Cebula, 93, of Schererville, IN, formerly of Burnham, IL on February 25, 2025.

Preceded in death by her loving husband Edward Cebula, parents John and Anna Sabados, brothers Emil (Ethel) Sabados, Peter (Harriet) Sabados, Frank (Margie) Sabados, Daniel (Harriet) Sabados, John (Lottie) Sabados, sisters Julia (Mike) Spudich, Mary (Paul) Lukas, nephews Robert Sabados, Daniel Sabados, John Sabados, James Lukas, Gerald Sabados, nieces Marlene Williams, Joyce Hawkinson, Betty Boskey, and Barbara Wilkins.

Anne is survived by nephews Patrick (Sandy) Sabados, Thomas (Mary) Sabados, nieces Paulan (Ed) Teumer, Michele (Steve) Kiernicki, Denise (Greg) Whittam, Darlene Sabados, and Bridgett (Rick) Nelson. She is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Anne worked until she retired as an executive secretary for several companies. She enjoyed travelling, going to the casino to play the slots, especially the Buffalos. She was a kind and loving aunt, friend and will be fondly missed.

Visitation Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery – Calumet City, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area ( www.hospicecalumet.org ) or the Gary Sinise Foundation ( www.garysinisefoundation.org ).
