Anthony "Tony" Renzetti, age 87, of Steger, Illinois (formerly of Chicago Heights, Illinois), passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Beloved husband of 29 years to the late Linda Judge-Renzetti.
Tony Renzetti was born on March 23, 1938, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to Amedeo and Maria (née Maccaferri) Renzetti. He graduated from Bloom High School in 1957. While in high school, he served in the Army Reserves and worked as a mechanic at Malizia Service Station in Chicago Heights. He later became the owner of the service station, renaming it Renzetti Service. He served as the assistant chief of the Chicago Heights Paid on Call Volunteer Fire Department. Tony retired as the Director of Public Works in South Chicago Heights.
Tony is survived by his former wife, Patricia Renzetti; their sons, James, Anthony (Sharon), and Jeff (Laura); stepdaughters, Gail (Matthew) Olmsted and Ashley Judge; grandsons, Dominic (Jessica), Alex (fiancé Erin), and Nick; and step-grandchildren, Colin and Riley Olmsted.
Preceding Tony in death are his parents, Amedeo and Maria (née Maccaferri) Renzetti; his sisters, Clara (Irwin) Marshall, Betty Ann Martello, Thelma (Guido) Fidanzi, Nancy (Julio) Saviano, Velma (Bob) Walters; and his brother, Michael Renzetti.
Tony was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews and friend to many who knew him as "Tex." Tony enjoyed golfing and fishing, and he was a Chicago Cubs fan.
Memorial visitation to be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Smits – Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois, 60475.
