Arlene J. Harmeling

Arlene J. Harmeling, nee Vander Schoot, age 77, of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 31, 2019. Loving wife of the late Bill Harmeling. Devoted mother of Scott (Valorie) Harmeling and Jill (Chad) Gehring. Proud grandmother of Ethan, Alec, Owen, and Chloe. Dearest sister of Sharon Vander Schoot, Deborah Vander Schoot, and Doreen Anderson. Preceded in death by her parents Albertus and Henrietta Vander Schoot.

Visitation Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral service Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN, with services conducted by Rev. Daniel Svendsen. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery  – Elwood, IL.
