Armando V Gazzillo, 76, of Steger, Illinois passed away peacefully July 19, 2016. Armando Vittorio Gazzillo entered into eternal peace on July 19, 2016 in his home in Steger surrounded by his family at the age of 76. He was born in Dragoni, Italy on October 17, 1939 and became a United States citizen in 1962. Armando was a dedicated hard working loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. To say that everyone who met him loved him is an understatement. He was always the life of the party with his “TA DA” and the occasional “BARK.” He always had the ability to make those around him happy. His smile was infectious and his love abundant. He often worked as many as 3 jobs at a time but still found time to truly live life. He enjoyed making wine, working in his garden and yard, mushroom hunting, golfing, camping and fishing. Armando retired from Ford Motor Company as a welder after 32 years and was a proud member of the Steger Volunteer Fire Department where he retired as a Lieutenant after 27 years of service. Armando will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years Janis; his children, Ralph Gazzillo (Lynn), Lisa Sanders, Kim DeFrancesco (Mike), Tina Perchinski and Tori Gazzillo, his grandchildren, Shawna, Ralph, Tina, Billy, Nicholas, Jake, Lucas, Alyssa, Payton and Emma, and his great grandchildren Bradley, Vicente, Collin, Colton, Evelyn, Malakai and Anthony, his twin sister Maria Lucente (Albert) his sister Michellina (Marchello) Zappoli and 2 brothers, Tony and Luigi Gazzillo (Carmella). He will also be forever remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers Clemente, Pasquale and Dominic Gazzillo, his mother Marchellina and father Raffaele Gazzillo.Visitation, Friday July 22, 2016 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, Illinois.
