Arthur P. Art Holem, age 62, of Dyer, IN formerly of Dolton, IL. Passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, May 2, 2011 with his loving family surrounding him after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Judy Holem nee Lang. Loving father of Bryan (Kathi) Holem and Amanda (fianc Maxx Kohn) Holem. Proud grandfather of Keith, Megan, Nathan, Kyle, Samuel, Lizzy and Myles. Dear brother of Sandi (Jack) Dempsey. Fond brother-in-law of Lois (Perry) Jamar. Loving son of the late Perry and Blanche Holem. Kind uncle of many nieces and a nephew. Visitation Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service 7:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN. with Rev. Ken Puent officiating. Interment Private. Art was an avid Harley rider, fisherman and longtime White Sox fan.
