Augustine R. "Gus" Arteaga

Augustine R. “Gus” Arteaga, age 79, of Frankfort, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 13, 2025.  Beloved husband of Carol S. Arteaga, nee Nudo.  Loving and devoted father of Brieanna Arteaga, Ashley (Brandon) Clark, Denise (late Donna) Arteaga, and the late Tony Arteaga. Cherished papa of Ethan and Lucas Monks.  Dear brother of Joseph Arteaga and the late Alice (late Ed) Goetz; brother-in-law of Georgeann Gambill, Christine (Steve) McCarthy, Carmen (Jeanine) Nudo, Valerie (Scott) Walkowiak, and the late Ronald (Sharon) Nudo.  Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents Augustine and Leonarda Arteaga.  Gus was truly loved by his family, and many friends, and will be greatly missed.  We would love to see everyone.  He was loved by so many and even though you can't talk to him; he promised he would be there!

Visitation Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 6:30 p.m. at Smits-Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois, James E. Janusz, Director.
