Austin James Bruinsma

Austin James Bruinsma, age 20, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Beloved son of Amy (Loren) Smith and Eric (Kelly) Bruinsma. Dear brother of Zakary, Troy, Kelsey, and Noah. Cherished grandson of Kathy and late Jim Bruinsma, Patricia and Vern Stadt (late Larry Smith), Dean and Vanessa Doty, Brian and Debbie Kolosh.  Austin was loved by his many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.  Austin impacted many lives by his gentleness, kindness, soft spokenness, and his willingness to help others. His smile and presence would light up a room. He loved his job with Boilermakers Local #374.

Visitation Friday, March 1, 2024 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN.  A funeral service will be held prior to the visitation at 2:00 p.m.
