Barbara Cook, nee Marquardt, age 86, of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Paul E. Cook.  Loving mother of Glenn Cook, Scott (late Ann) Cook, and the late Jeffrey Paul Cook.  Proud grandmother of eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one soon-to-be-born great grandchild. Dear sister of Joan (late Mitch) Overgaard and the late John “Jack” (late Lois) Marquardt.  Preceded in death by her parents Walter and Frances Marquardt.

Barbara was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, TOPS Club, and South Holland Garden Club. She was a longtime member at United Presbyterian Church in South Holland. She enjoyed playing cards and Bunco and was a member of several card clubs.  Barbara was a former employee at South Holland Bank for many years. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. South Holland, IL, with services conducted by Rev. Angela Ryo.
