Barbara J. Sheehan

Barbara J. Sheehan, nee Karabin, age 73, of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Gerald M. Sheehan. Loving mother of Timothy (Amy), Kevin, and Michael (Lisa) Sheehan. Proud grandmother of Joseph, Jennifer, Katherine, Caroline, and Chloe. Dearest sister of Pat (William) Rabb. Preceded in death by her parents Bruno and Adeline Karabin. Barbara devoted her life to her endearing husband of 52 years and making a home for their three sons. Barb enjoyed crafting, cooking, and crocheting, sharing countless trinkets, pizelles, and afghans with the family and others lucky enough to receive them. She was raised in Roseland, IL and attended Edgar Allen Poe Elementary and Fenger High Schools. She proudly began her career at R.R. Donnelley & Sons where she later met her beloved husband, and would set aside her career to begin her cherished family. She spoke so fondly of her childhood memories vacationing on the farm in Knowlton, WI, birthplace of her parents, as well as skating, dancing, and playing the accordian.
