Bernard J. Mike Gartland, age 73, of Dyer, IN formerly of Chicago, IL. Passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, June 13, 2011. Loving husband of 52 years of Janet M. Gartland nee Hughes. Cherished Dad of Elizabeth Figiel, Diane, Mary, Pam and Michelle Gartland. Beloved Papa of Michael, Jessica, Kelsie, Emma and Karlie; Great-Papa of Ethan. Dear brother of Mary (Rich) Brouilette and William (Ann) Gartland. Dearest son of the late Thomas and Mary Gartland nee Steed. Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews and a fond brother-in-law of many. Charles Niblick officiating. Interment Private. Mr. Gartland was a veteran of the U.S.M.C and a member of I.B.E.W. Local #134 with 55 years of dedicated service.
