Bette Jean Barwig

Bette Jean Barwig nee Michael, age 93, of South Chicago Heights, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, October 22, 2021.  Beloved wife of the late Robert James Barwig.  Loving mother of Patricia Doggett Formentini (John), Michael Barwig (James Wolf), David Barwig(Sheri), Barbara Bulava (Alan), and Beth Barwig Michael (Rick).  Cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 28 great-grandchildren.  Dear aunt of 21 nieces and nephews.  Bette was preceded in death by her parents George Franklin and Bertha Rigamer-Michael Sr., as well as her siblings Mildred Strandberg-Carter, Raymond Michael, Marion Cole, George Franklin Michael Jr., Grace Grupe, and Ralph Michael.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation to be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. directly at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6201 Vollmer Rd, Matteson, IL 60443.  Interment Skyline Memorial Park – Monee, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church on Vollmer or Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL (Lightways.org).  Arrangements entrusted to Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd.
