Billy R Shirley, age 84, of Mayflower, Arkansas, formerly of Crete, IL, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013. Beloved husband of C.Ruth Shirley nee Redus. Loving father of Rodney (Rebekah) Shirley, Pamela (Gary) Newbury and Ben Shirley. Cherished grandfather of Rachel (Mark) Snell, Ruth & Lance Cpl. Jack Shirley, Gary (Stephanie) Newbury II, Justin (Carly) Newbury & Andrew (Ashlee) Newbury. Great Grandfather of Mason & Ella Newbury. Dear brother of Audrey Farmer. Billy was preceded in death by nine siblings. Visitation Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Thursday, 11:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home-Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, IL 60475.
