Cora “Blanche” Tremore, 101, of Momence Illinois passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Blanche was born October 1, 1916 on a farm north of Momence to Edith and Arthur Gibson. Blanche graduated from the Momence High School. She was a housewife to three children and her husband Wilmont. Blanche attended and hosted family gatherings for the Gladiolus Festivals for numerous years including the 2017 festival. She was a life-long and active member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Momence, she was also an active member of the Northern Star. Blanche enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Blanche was the first of her five-generation family.
Blanche is survived by her daughter Judy (Harold) Schroth and son John (Judy) Tremore, six grandchildren, including Johanna Gies who served as Blanche’s care giver. Also surviving eight great grandchildren and two great great granddaughters. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Doris (late Bob) Horner, Bernice (late Luther) Clayton, Mary Gibson, husband Wilmont Tremore, daughter Linda Hartman, granddaughter Melinda Waterman, grandson Michael Tremore.
Visitation Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 am at the Momence Funeral Chapel 203 North Locust St Momence IL. Funeral Service 11:00 am at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Momence. Interment at Momence Cemetery. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the Muscular Dystrophy Association appreciated. More information at smitsfh.com
