Buford W. Painter Jr., age 76, of Dyer, IN, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024. Beloved husband of Donna Painter, nee Kegebein. Loving father of Clark (Marcy) Painter, the late Gerad Painter, and step-father of Laurie (Kevin) Wilson, Dawn (late Mike) Dean, and Amy (John) Eagan. Cherished grandfather of six grandchildren. Buford was a retired train engineer for Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad Co. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL
