Cal Couwenhoven, age 92, of Lansing, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Shirley M. Couwenhoven, nee Holleman. Loving father of Bob (Lisa) Couwenhoven, Sue Couwenhoven, and Jan Couwenhoven. Proud grandfather of Kate and Kara Couwenhoven, and Meghan and Bryan Vanderlee. Dear brother of George (Jean) Couwenhoven, late Harriet (late Bob) Botma, and the late Wayne Couwenhoven. Visitation, Friday, December 16, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Lynwood United Reformed Church (1990 E. Glenwood-Dyer Rd. Lynwood, IL 60411) with services conducted by Rev. Nick Alons. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL. Cal was a retired service manager at Ridgeway Chevrolet in Lansing, IL and a U.S. Army Veteran. Memorial contributions may be given to Lynwood United Reformed Church. Arrangements entrusted to Smits Funeral Home – Dyer, IN.
