Candido Ciaparrone, age 92, late of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Steger, IL.  Born July 18, 1931 in Faiano, Italy, and passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 6, 2024.  Loving and devoted husband of 68 years of Letizia Ciaparrone, nee Battipaglia.  Devoted father of Mario Ciaparrone, and Anna (Phil) Coniglio.  Proud grandfather of Candido (Aksana) Ciaparrone, Sabrina (Michael) Schroeter, Daniella (Derek) VanDiepenhuisen, Marco (Kaity) Coniglio, and Julianna Smith; great-grandfather of Sophie Schroeter, Ava Schroeter, Callie, Dominic, Piper, and Esme Coniglio, Audrianna VanDiepenhuisen, Cameron VanDiepenhuisen, Alexandria, Elijah, and Hudson Ciaparrone.  Dear brother of Alberto (late Rosetta) Ciaparrone, Angelina (late Giuseppe) DiFilippo, the late Ersilio (Maria) Ciaparrone, and late Vincezo (late Antonietta) Ciaparrone.  Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents Pasquale and Michelina Ciaparrone.  Candido always worked hard to provide for his family, he helped others in any way he could, and loved everyone.  He always put his family first even before himself.  He leaves a wonderful and memorable legacy that will forever be cherished.  Candido loved his family and country, and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN.  Visitation Monday, March 11, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Candido’s funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN, with Rev. Leo Gajardo officiating.  Entombment Assumption Cemetery – Glenwood, IL.
