Carol Korte

Carol Korte, nee Boersma, age 87, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Lansing, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, September 25, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Robert L. Korte. Loving mother of Ruth (Arthur) Wiers and the late Janet (Roger) Bruins. Proud grandmother of Caryn (Brent) Schierbeek, David Wiers, Christopher (Trisha) Bruins, Maxwell (Mariah) Bruins and the late Leslie Bruins; her first great grandchild is due in January. Dear sister of June (late Calvin) Ettema and James (Susan) Boersma. Kind aunt of her special niece Kay (Ron) Ranola, and several other nieces and nephews. Visitation Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN with services conducted by Rev. Leroy Childress. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South – Worth, IL. Mrs. Korte was a long time faithful member of Grace Church in Lansing, IL. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Mountain Home Arkansas and Caribbean Islands. She and her husband lived in an apartment above their store, Quality Carpets, in Lansing, Illinois since 1962 until moving to assisted care last year.
