C arol J. Porter Elzinga, nee Mossell, age 79, of St. John, IN, went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Beloved wife of Jack Elzinga. Loving mother of Dawn (David) Beezhold, Craig (Mary) Porter, Cheryl (Kurt) Eenigenburg; step-mother of Greg (Jacqui) Elzinga, and Brett (Kristi) Elzinga. Proud grandmother of Derrick, Amber, Brandon, Jennifer, Jenise, Nick, Karissa, Ashley, Drew and Chad; step-grandmother of Brooke, Luke, Paige, Jacob, and Trent; great-grandmother of nine. Dearest sister of Marvin (Eileen) Mossell, late Joanne (late Pete) Mollema; step-sister of Grace (late Russell) Tamminga, and Robert (Sharon) Elzinga. Preceded in death by her first husband James Porter and her parents Frank and Caroline Mossell. Kind aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Visitation Friday, October 19, 2018 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. Funeral service Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church (3500 Glenwood-Lansing Rd. Lansing, IL) with services conducted by Rev. Herm Schutt. Private interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.
