Carole Ann Burrell

Carole Ann Burrell, nee Gariffa, age 76, of South Holland, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2020.  Loving mother of Curtis Antone (Estella) Burrell.  Devoted grandmother of Josh and Jermaine Burrell and great-grandmother of Niya.  Dear sister of George (late Shirley) Gariffa, late Margaret (Walter) Murphy, and Donna (Scott) Zajic.  Preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Virginia Gariffa. Former wife of John Thurston and the late Curtis Burrell.  Carole was loved by a host of family, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  In memory of Carole memorial contributions may be given to the South Suburban Humane Society .  A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. with a brief service at noon at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162 ^nd St. (Rt. 6/ 159 ^th St.) South Holland, IL.  In consideration of others, masks will be required.  For further info or to sign the online guestbook and obituary, please contact 708-333-7000 or visit us at www.SMITSFH.com .
