Charlene Ferguson

Charlene Ferguson, nee Dennis, age 80, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away February 8, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Robert Ferguson who passed away June 24, 2011. Loving mother of Susan (Donald) Piffier and Brian (Sandra) Fullerton. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Michael) McClead, Erica Piffier, and Melinda, Kyle and Kirk Fullerton and 4 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Donald Dennis, Elizabeth Abbott, and the late Betty Cessna. Kind aunt of several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and one great-great nephew. Preceded in death by her parents Charles and Rena Dennis. Charlene was known best as being a homemaker and taking much joy in it. Coming from Park Forest, IL 27 years ago to Florida, she enjoyed cooking, baking, golfing, ceramics and making crafts. Bob was an Army Veteran who enjoyed golfing with his spouse and jokes. Both will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved them. A memorial visitation and remembrance time for Charlene and her late husband Robert will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311.  Inurnment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL.
