Charles "Jim" W. Hicks, age 76 of Steger, Illinois, passed away peacefully, July 4, 2014. Beloved husband of Janice Hicks nee Walsh. Loving father of Beth (Thane) Phelps, Lynn Schnepf, Margie (Steve) Gibson, Jim (Gay Kirkpatrick) Hicks and the late Lori Hicks-Moeller. Cherished grandfather of twelve grandchildren and thirteen Great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers William and Gerald and a sister Carol. Visitation Tuesday July 8, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until prayer service 11:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Road Steger, IL 60475. Funeral Mass to follow 12:00 p.m. at St. Liborius Church - Steger, IL. Interment Calvary Cemetery - Steger, IL.
