Charles L. Jacobsma, age 57, of South Holland, IL, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Beloved husband of Mary Jo Jacobsma, nee Sobek. Loving father of Julie (Kevin) Christopher, Charles D. Jacobsma, and Neal Jacobsma. Dear grandfather of Abigail and Haylee. Loving brother of Jackie (Brian) Pekny, Sandi (Joe) Monzin, and Pam Reinsimar. Chuck was preceded in death by his father: the late Charles(Grace) Jacobsma and his mother: the late Jean Ann(Wendell) Wermes. Chuck was also a loving brother-in-law, step-brother, and uncle to those connected with the Jacobsma, Togtman, Wermes, and Sobek families and a brother to his fellow fire fighters with the South Holland Fire Department. Chuck was retired as a Deputy Chief with the South Holland Fire Department, a self-employeed business owner of Chuck''s Compressor''s Inc., a U.S. Navy SEAL Veteran and a past president of the Issac Walton League of America. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 2:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL. Prayer Service, Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home, leaving for a 11:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 880 E. 154th St, South Holland, IL.
