Charles F. Merchant age 80 of Sauk Village, IL passed away July 28, 2011. Beloved husband of 54 years to Bonnie Merchant nee Nash. Loving father of Kathy (Donnie) Tipton, Susan (Terry) Adams, Roseanne (Bruce) Kabat, and Patrick Merchant. Cherished grandfather of Jennie (Jeff) Noel, Jenna (TJ) ONeil, Stephanie (Ryan) Laude and Nicholas Adams. Proud Great Grandfather of Jake, Jaden and Thomas Charles Tomchuck . Charles will also be missed by his faithful companion Missy. Visitation Monday August 1st from 3:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Homes- Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Il. Service and interment private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery " Elwood, IL. Charles enjoyed gardening, shortwave radios, jazz music and walking Missy.
