Charles H. Vander Kooy, age 75, of Lansing, IL passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017. Beloved husband of Joanne Vander Kooy, nee Bakker. Loving father of Laura (Robert) Disterhaupt of O'Fallon, MO., Tracy (Randall) Van Drunen, Debra (Douglas) Santefort, and the late infant Anna Marie Vander Kooy. Devoted grandfather of John, Mark, and Jamie Disterhaupt; Faith, Chad, and Levi Van Drunen; and Katherine and Claire Santefort. Dear brother of Edward (Mary) Vander Kooy, the late Wally (Mary) Vander Kooy, and the late Susie Vander Kooy. Mr. Vander Kooy was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired route salesman for Pepsi Cola Co. Visitation Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3:00-8:00 P.M. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN. Burial will take place prior to the funeral on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery - Elwood, IL. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Church, 2740 Indiana Ave. Lansing, IL with Pastor Leroy Childress officiating.
