Clarence A Schmidt

Clarence A. Schmidt, 81, of Steger, Illinois, passed away peacefully, August 14, 2019. Beloved husband of Carolyn Schmidt nee Novakowski. Loving father of Andrea (Daniel) Baumhardt, Andrew Schmidt, Paul Smith, Scott (Tammy) Smith, Jeri Smith, and Wendy (Larry) Fowler. Cherished grandfather of James, Joseph,Ava Maria Baumhardt, Gabriella Smith, Ellie Smith, Cassie (Casey) Brown, Tyler Smith, Maggie (Gage) Bird, and Lindsea Eades. Great grandfather of Penelope, CJ, Carson Brown, and Noah Bird. Dear brother of Dorothy (late Joseph) Slawinski, Martin (late Linda) Smith, and Theresa (Rick) DeRush. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Josephine Nowaczyk-Smith. Clarence was a proud United States Navy Veteran.

Visitation Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits-Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL 50475.  Visitation also Monday, August 19, 2019 from 9:15 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. directly at  St. James Catholic Church, 22400 Torrence Ave., Sauk Village, IL with Rev.
