Clayton Gene Smith, age 77, of Steger, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Beloved husband of Cheril Smith, nee Stebbens. Loving father of Gary (Karen) Smith and Denise (Pat) Felter. Cherished grandfather of Megan (Joey Miller) Micheau, Matthew (Chelsea) Micheau and Brittany (James Bourdeau) Curtis; great-grandfather of six. Dear brother of Delores (Late Louie) Rogge and Dora (Wayne) Hamiester. Clayton was a proud United States Navy Veteran and retired after over 40 years of service with Thrall Car. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Private interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society appreciated.
