Daniel A. Giewartowski

Daniel A. "Dan" Giewartowski, age 91, of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 27, 2025.  Loving husband of the late Marcia N. Giewartowski, nee Kilarski.  Devoted father of Gregg (Mary) Giewartowski and Lynn (Tom) Sheppard.  Cherished papa of Kaitlin, Alyssa (Jonathan) Beach, Samantha (fiance Joseph Sullivan), Irina Sheppard, And Tanya (Paul) Bellisario; great-papa of Magnolia Leigh.  Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Helen Giewartowski.  

Dan was the owner of Illiana Insurance Agency in Calumet City for many years and a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was a Chicago Bears fan, drum corps enthusiast, enjoyed car racing, cruise nights, remote controlled cars, having owned a number of classic cars.  Dan was loved by his family, and friends, and will be truly missed.  

Visitation Wednesday, December 31, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL, with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating.  Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery - Calumet City, IL.
