Daniel Joseph Mulvihill, 78, of Crete, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his residence February 6, 2015, after a wonderful life. He was surrounded by his wife and children. Born in Imlay City, Michigan, on January 10, 1937, he was the son of Joseph and Ella (Kingstrom) Mulvihill. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in Monroe, Michigan, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp to proudly serve his country. Joining the Marines brought him to California where he met the love of his life, Rita St.Pierre. After serving his country, he worked in the Medical Radiology field, but his proudest accomplishment was his loving family. He was blessed to have his immediate family close to him for his entire life. Not only was he a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, but he was loved by everyone who had the chance to know him. He was a quiet person at times, but very jovial and enjoyed a good laugh which was contagious. Dan was one who could always be counted on by friends and family for whatever they may need. Dan is survived by his loving wife Rita (St. Pierre) Mulvihill; together they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Son of the late Joseph and Ella (Kingstrom) Mulvihill, Dan is survived by his four children, Thomas (Ruth), Cindy, David (Ozlem) and Molly (Ryan Sundby) who cherished and loved him dearly. He is also survived by four grandchildren Jack, Batuhan, Erhan, Elin and a fifth named Soren due on February 23rd. Dan was the brother of Thomas (Lydia), Lawrence (Nancy), and Helen (Bob Nolan). A Mass will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Liborius Parish in Steger, Illinois. Private Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Orange County, California will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Robert H.
