Daniel J. Oleck

Daniel “The Crusher” J. Oleck, age 53, of Lowell, IN, passed away on Friday August 7, 2026. Loving father of Carley, Cadey, and Caylen Oleck. Devoted son of Donald and Julia (Dziadon) Oleck. Dear brother to Thomas Oleck and Jennifer (Brian) Koselke. Kind uncle of Brianna, Brody, and Brecken Koselke. Caring partner to Bobbi Wanmer.

Daniel was Pipefitter with Local #597. He was a fan of the White Sox and Steelers. Everywhere he went he found someone he knew and strangers regularly turned into friends. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Visitation with family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a celebration of life beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN.
