Darrell W King, age 56, of Crete, Illinois, passed away peacefully January 26, 2018. Devoted partner of Sherri Brock and Dad to their furkids, Beauty, Jessie, Rex & Zorro. Preceded in death by Mother Virginia M (Smith)Valum and Father Donald O Valum Sr. Loving father of Darrell W (Heather)​ King II. Cherished grandfather of Kaleigh Grace King. Loving Big brother of Linda K (Joe) Nelson, Donald O Valum Jr., and Little Brother of Steve (Rosalie) Rose. Cathy (Dreyer) Valum stepmother, brother David (Roslyn) Janssen and little sister Megan and niece Alexie Hicks. Amazing Uncle of  Lee, Samuel, Tabitha, and great uncle of Liam and Andrew.Nephew of Aunt Grace (Smith) (Uncle Arthur) Doody and Uncle Leslie Smith Jr. and 27 Smith Cousins.  Best Life-time Friends of Patty Lawless Cook and Cheryl Cherny.  Memorial Visitation, Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 2:00 - 5:30 pm with Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, Illinois. Interment private.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.  Information (708) 755-6100 or visit www.smitsfh.com   ​​
