Darryl R. Nichele

Darryl R. Nichele, age 61, of Highland, IN, formerly of Valrico, FL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Loving and devoted husband of Katrina M. Nichele, nee Hiestand. Thoughtful son of Roger and the late Joan Nichele. Dear brother of Valerie (Jaime) Aruguete and Douglas (Kristi) Nichele. Proud uncle of Nicole (Chris) Detmar and Benjamin (Ann) Nichele; great-uncle of three cherished nieces and one nephew. Darryl was a huge sports fan and enjoyed good old fashion rock and roll music. He was loved and adored by his family, and friends, and will be truly missed.

Visitation Sunday, October 25, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Darryl’s prayer service at 1:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN.
