Dave E. Markley

Dave E. Markley , age 78, of Dyer, Indiana, died Thursday, February 1, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Betty Markley, nee Mate, loving father of Rick (Jean) Markley, grandfather of Michael and Damien Markley and great-grandfather of Madelyn Markley. He was a dear brother of Robert (Mary) Markley, Roger (late Mary Lou) Markley and Audrey (late Zeke) Wenger. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Madge, nee Riley, Markley. Mr. Markley was a U.S. Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Intrepid. Visitation Friday, February 9, 2018 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN . Funeral service Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6709 Arizona Ave. Hammond, IN with services conducted by Rev. Jim Thompson.
