David L. Keilman, age 75, of Schererville, IN, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015. Beloved husband of Karen M. Keilman, nee Cousineau. Devoted father of David T. (Karen) Keilman, Daniel R. Keilman, Cheryl R. (Gary) Letcher and Damon R. (Dayna) Keilman; Step-father of Michael F. (Denise) Burns, Patrick J. Burns, and the late Maureen T. (Dan) Oxley. Proud grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle of many. Dear brother of the late Diane (Don) Helland, Charles W. (Sue) Keilman, Judy (Dave) Simac, Al R. (Paulette) Keilman, and Robert K. (Patti) Keilman. Preceded in death by his parents Alois and Agnes Keilman. Visitation Thursday, May 28 , 2015 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home - 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN 46311. Lying in state Friday, May 29, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of David''s Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Church - 8303 Taft St. Merrillville, IN 46410 with Rev. Peter Muha officiating. Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery - Schererville, IN. Mr. Keilman retired from Material Service after 35 years of dedicated service, he was an avid bowler, Cubs fan, and enjoyed visiting casino boats. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts to the Keilman Family greatly appreciated.
