Deborah L. Van Deel

Deborah L. Van Deel, nee Porter, age 70, of Crown Point, IN, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 16, 2022.  Loving wife of John Van Deel.  Devoted mother of Heather (Erik) Foust, Daniel (Tammy) Van Deel, and Denise Van Deel, and very close family friend Elizabeth Houck. Cherished grandmother of Justin Foust, Rebecca Foust, Madalyn Fiscus, Ellie Van Deel, Seth Van Deel, Katelyn (Noah) Butterfield, Andrew Ericks, and Thomas Ericks.  Great-grandma of Leo Butterfield.  Dearest sister of Cindi (Robert) Van Rosendale, Pat (Ray) West, Chuck (Cheryl) Porter, Pam (Rick) Brouwer and Tom (Lori) Porter.  Kind aunt of many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Arlene Porter.

Deborah had a genuine, humble spirit who cared for everyone she met. Throughout her years on earth she held a number of professional caregiver roles as well as being very involved in service ministries in her church, family and community.

Visitation Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church 909 E. Greenwood Ave. Crown Point, IN. Funeral service Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at church with Rev. Fred De Jong officiating.  Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.   Memorial donations may be given to Samaritan’s Purse (Christmas Gift Catalog) www.samaritanspurse.org .
