Debra A. Brockly

Debra A. Brockly, nee Laczkowski, age 67, of Griffith, IN, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Loving wife of 46 years of Theodore A. “Ted” Brockly.  Devoted mother of Theodore Brockly and Michael (Jennifer) Brockly.  Beloved daughter of Annette and the late Casimir Laczkowski.  Dearest sister of Casimir (Deborah) Laczkowski and Gary (late Louise) Laczkowski; sister-in-law of Deborah (Jerry) Pappas and Robert (Taunya) Pappas.  Kind aunt of Casimir, Valerie, and William.  Dear niece of several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Debra cherished her family and time with her grandchildren, Reagan and Ethan.  She loved to travel, enjoyed fishing and was an avid Blackhawks and Cubs fan.  She was loved and adored by her family, and friends, and will be deeply missed.  Debra was a source of love, strength, and comfort to those around her.  Her kindness and loving spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.  She will be remembered for her generosity and attentiveness to the people around her and her devotion to family and quiet acts of kindness that made a lasting impression on those who knew and loved her.

Visitation Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 3:30 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. Visitation Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 9:15 a.m. until the time of Debra’s funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Mary Catholic Church 525 N. Broad St. Griffith, IN, with Rev. Keith M.
