Delores “Dee” L. Klein, nee Cericola, age 87, of South Holland, IL passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Beloved wife of 70 years to Richard V. Klein. Loving mother of Cynthia (Stanley) Schilling and Lisa (Manliff Coggan) Kyle. Cherished grandmother of Jill (Scott) Nabors, Jay (Nicole) Jerome, Joseph (Megan) Klisiak Jr., Ashley Isler, Justin Isler, Katie Schilling, Hayley (Brandon Eisenberger) Kyle, and Madisyn Kyle and great-grandmother of Jeremy, Kayla, Jay III, Joseph III, Jordi, Aden, Samuel, Landon, Wrigley, and Everly. Dear sister of Michael (Lorraine) Cericola. Devoted aunt of many nephew and nieces. Preceded in death by her parents, Rocco and Rochina Cericola; her sisters, Antonette, Emily, Santa, and Gloria; and her brothers, Frankie and Rocco.
As a young woman, Dee loved to draw and received a scholarship to study drawing at the Art Institute of Chicago. Later she became the owner of K&W Television in South Holland for over 25 years. In 1962, Dee and Richard built their home in South Holland and lived there ever since. She was one of the founders of the South Holland Business Association. Dee was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 12:00 Noon at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt. 6/159th St.) South Holland, IL. Memorial contributions may be given to the Wounded Warriors Project (
