Dennis K. Boyd age 64 of So. Chicago Heights, IL. passed away on July 29, 2006. Dennis is survived by his wife, Mary Jo nee Colantonio, one daughter, Kelly (Kevin) Ward of Beecher, one son, Scott Boyd of So. Chicago Heights, five grandchildren, Joseph D. Boyd, Anthony J. Boyd, Alec J. Ward, Russell J. Ward and Aidan C. Ward, one sister Debra (Sam) Spagnola of So. Chicago Heights, and a nephew Shane Spagnola also survive. He was preceded in death by his son Joseph W. Boyd. Visitation Wednesday August 2nd from 3:00 " 9:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Rd. Steger) Funeral Mass Thursday 10:00 a.m. at St. Liborius Catholic Church, Steger. Interment at Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood. Mr. Boyd was a Police Captain for the Village of So. Chicago Heights with 39 years of service and a served in the US Army. Dennis relaxed by doing construction work, home maintenance, and working on his cars.
