Dennis M. Slifko, age 78, of Schererville, IN, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Beloved husband of JoAnn Slifko, nee DeLeeuw. Devoted father of Heidi (Jerry) VanKalker and Michael (Jill) Slifko. Proud grandfather of Payton and Kacie VanKalker and Gianna and Sarah Slifko. Dear brother of Janice Saksa, the late Howard (late Mary) Slifko; brother-in-law of Paul (Isabelle) Slifko. Loving uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Evelyn Slifko. Memorial visitation Monday, June 20, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30&Pleasant Springs Ln.)
