Donald "Dale" Terhaar

Donald Dale TerHaar Jr., age 53 of South Holland, IL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 12, 2018 after a lengthy illness.  Beloved husband of Nancy TerHaar, nee VanMilligan.  Loving father of Jacob, Adam, Hannah and the late Rebekah TerHaar. Devoted son of Irene TerHaar and the late Donald TerHaar, Sr.  Dear brother of Harlan (Jaki) TerHaar, Dean (Sandra) TerHaar, Tim (Judy) TerHaar and Nancy (Darin) Larson.  Kind friend to many.  Visitation Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162 ^nd St. South Holland, IL. Funeral service Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church of South Holland, 16248 South Park Ave. South Holland, IL, with Rev. Daniel Svendsen officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.  Dale spent a lot of his youth growing up in Rock Valley, Iowa.  He graduated from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa and moved to South Holland, IL.  In the subsequent years he became the owner of South Park Hardware in South Holland and later added Grill’s Hardware in Midlothian.  Dale was active in his church and community.  He Had served as a Deacon and Elder at First C.R.C. and on the Calvin Christian School Board and the Zoning and Economic Boards of South Holland.  He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.  In memory of Dale memorial contributions may be given to Calvin Christian School, 528 E. 161 ^st Pl, South Holland, IL.
